Accessibility Statement

Madda Walabu Seattle is committed to ensuring our website, programs, and community office are accessible to everyone we serve.

Last updated: September 2026

Our commitment

Madda Walabu Seattle serves youth, families, and neighbours across South Seattle. We believe everyone should be able to access information about our programs, register for services, and participate in our community regardless of ability.

We are actively working to improve the accessibility of our website and in-person services so that people with disabilities can use them effectively.

Web accessibility standards

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, where practicable. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities and more usable for everyone.

Accessibility is an ongoing effort. As we add new pages, forms, and media, we review them for readability, keyboard navigation, colour contrast, and screen-reader compatibility.

Measures we take

On this website, we strive to:

  • Use clear heading structure and descriptive link text
  • Provide alternative text for meaningful images
  • Design forms with visible labels and helpful error messages
  • Support keyboard navigation for interactive elements
  • Maintain sufficient colour contrast between text and backgrounds
  • Use readable font sizes and plain language where possible

In-person services

Our community office at 9040 Rainier Ave S, Suite #2, Seattle, WA 98118 welcomes visitors during posted business hours. If you need assistance accessing our building, completing forms, or communicating with staff, please let us know when you arrive or contact us in advance.

We offer services in multiple languages including Oromo, Amharic, Somali, Arabic, French, and English. If you need an accommodation to use our notary, translation, immigration paperwork, or other community services, we will do our best to help.

Third-party content

Some pages may include embedded content from third parties (such as maps, videos, or donation platforms). We cannot always control the accessibility of those external tools, but we choose partners that support accessible experiences where possible.

If you encounter a barrier caused by third-party content on our site, please tell us so we can explore alternatives.

Feedback and assistance

We welcome your feedback on the accessibility of the Madda Walabu Seattle website and our in-person services. If you experience difficulty accessing any part of our site or need information in a different format, please contact us:

We try to respond to accessibility requests within five business days and will work with you to provide the information or service you need.

Continuous improvement

Accessibility is not a one-time project. We review this statement periodically, test new features before launch, and train staff and volunteers on serving community members with diverse needs.

Thank you for helping us build a more inclusive community.
